A Professional Resume Writer Injects Relevance Into a Resume: Especially for Job Seekers Who Have a Difficult Time Tooting Their Own Horn

A professional resume writer will use a combination of interviewing and questionnaires to gain a comprehensive picture of your professional background.  He or she will know what questions to ask and what kind of information to look for, in order to create a solid and relevant snapshot of your unique ability to contribute to the employer.

Many of us have difficulty examining our own backgrounds with a critical eye or an objective approach to select relevant data and eliminate the non-relevant.  The tendency is to include everything, although in my years as a resume writer I’ve noticed there are the occasional clients who include virtually nothing and must be cajoled to provide more information.

A professional writer can help you determine which portions of your background to emphasize most based on your particular job objective.  He or she can also assist you in combing through your personal experiences – such as volunteer work, community involvement, hobbies and interests to determine whether any of this information might be relevant, and therefore, should be included on the resume.
